Green Iguana - Rex
Safari Party Presents....Rex the Green Iguana

Hola! My name is Rex.
I am an Iguana from Central America. I was just a hatchling when I came from my jungle home and came to the USA, where I met Theresa. We have become the best of friends because she understands the complexities of raising large lizards and I am definitely a large lizard! I grow to over 6 feet long.
Most people think I'm going to stay a cute little lizard. It is important that people learn all about us before you take us home:
I am a vegetarian and need to eat a wide variety of leafy greens, and fresh fruit. I do not eat meat at all. My whole day is devoted to lounging around in the sun warming my body enough to digest food. I can spend the whole day just sunning myself and eating. If I get too warm, it is very important for me to lower my temperature. My favorite way to do this is to take a dip into some nice cool water!
Theresa built me a wonderful place that recreates all the best parts of my home, back in the jungle. I call it my "palace". It has a little pond where I soak and bathe, plus a waterfall that keeps me moist and feels great. Best of all she understands my need, for a large place to call my own. It has a tree that I enjoy basking on, and penty of room for me to romp around in.
I was really fortunate to find Theresa, she takes me everywhere. Many times we share a road trip of fun. The looks on peopl's faces when they notice me riding all over town. Fortunately for me, she works with kids, and children like me. This is great because it gives me an opportunity to teach so many people about, Iguanas.
I hope you enjoy the interesting bios and informational sheets of the other members of Safari Party.
Just remember that all of us are very special animals and have our own special needs, (diet, environment and handling), to be healthy and happy, and that we rely on people to provide them for us.
